The project was implemented by Lawyers’ Environmental Action Team (LEAT) and Rukwa Sustainable Development Organisation (RUSUDEO), covering the two district councils of Nkasi and Sumbawanga in Rukwa Region, with the aim of promoting participatory conservation by empowering and engaging the community in conserving the natural resources and biodiversity of the Lyamba Lya Mfipa hills while building the community’s resilience to manifested climate change impacts. The final activity was a midterm evaluation to inform course corrections in the remaining project life and to inform the future design of similar projects.
